Biro recalled from AHL Rochester

The Buffalo Sabres had arguably their best performance of the regular season in a 4-0 victory over the Colorado Avalanche, but in the process lost rookie winger Zach Benson to a lower-body injury. Benson re-injured a lower-body injury that caused him to miss three games earlier this month.
Sabres GM Kevyn Adams indicated that the 18-year-old is out week-to-week and will likely be placed on injured reserve this week.
"It is an opportunity to step back. You take as an 18-year-old player coming into your first NHL season, everything's a first. Everything is brand new. Going to Philadelphia is brand new for him. He'll make the trip with us for that reason, to take things in." Sabres head coach Don Granato said, "You can only take in so much at any time, so he doesn't have the responsibility of playing (against the Flyers on Thursday), but you can take in other things that will really help."
It is unknown how long the young winger will be out, but with the likelihood that Benson will be part of Team Canada for the upcoming World Junior Championships in Sweden, it is possible that he will remain with the Sabres through the month of November and be loaned to Hockey Canada when they open training camp for the WJC on December 10 instead of being sent back to the WHL’s Wenatchee Wild.
The club announced the recall of forward Brandon Biro to take Benson’s spot. The 25-year-old had an excellent training camp after scoring a career-high 51 points (16 goals, 35 assists) with the Rochester Americans, and started off this AHL season with six points (2 goals, 4 assists) in 5 games.
