Could the Sabres make a move for Kraken forward Jared McCann?
The Buffalo Sabres will be looking to boost their roster after their successful 2025-26 season. One of their top needs is another impactful forward in their top six, and this would only be more of the case if Alex Tuch signs elsewhere on July 1.
Due to this, the Sabres are now being linked to a top trade candidate in the NHL.
According to The Fourth Period, the Sabres are among the teams linked to Seattle Kraken forward Jared McCann.
When noting that McCann is a solid top-six forward who is capable of playing both center and on the wing, he would have the potential to be a strong pickup for the Sabres. He would give them another skilled offensive forward to work with, which would not be a bad thing in the slightest for the Sabres.
McCann appeared in 52 games during this past season with the Kraken, where he recorded 20 goals, 20 assists, and 40 points. This was after the 30-year-old forward posted at least 61 points in each of his previous three seasons. With numbers like these, he would be a very good pickup for the Sabres if acquired.
It will now be interesting to see if the Sabres can strike a deal for McCann this off-season. The fit looks good on paper.
