The Buffalo Sabres have made a notable move, signing top prospect Konsta Helenius to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Helenius, 18, was selected by the Sabres with the 14th overall pick of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. The 5-foot-11 forward is viewed as having great upside and has the potential to be a long-term part of the Sabres' core.

Helenius had an impressive 2023-24 season with Jukurit Mikkeli of the Liiga, posting 14 goals and 36 points in 51 games. He was also impactful during the playoffs, recording two goals and six points in six contests.
