The Buffalo Sabres have added to their prospect pool, signing forward Tyler Kopff to a two-year entry-level contract, which kicks in next season. In addition, the Sabres announced that Kopff will be on a tryout contract with the Rochester Americans for the rest of this season.
Kopff, 21, spent this season with Brown University, posting nine goals, 19 assists, and 28 points in 32 games. This was after the 6-foot-4 forward had six goals and 18 points in 30 games during his first season with Brown in 2023-24.
Before playing for Brown, Kopff spent the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons with the Coquitlam Express of the BCHL. In 107 games with the BCHL squad, he had 42 goals and 93 points.
With this move, the Sabres have now added another interesting forward prospect to their system. It will be fascinating to see how much of an impact the Ridgewood, New Jersey native can make with the Sabres in the future.
