This Sabres prospect is continuing to stay hot in the AHL.
Buffalo Sabres top prospect Konstas Helenius has the potential to become a very good player for the Atlantic Division club in the future. The 2024 first-round pick is continuing to show plenty of promise at the American Hockey League (AHL) level with the Rochester Americans and is only getting better as the season rolls on.
Helenius has been red-hot for the Amerks down the stretch, and the truth is in his stats. The young forward is currently on a four-game point streak with Rochester, where he has three goals and five assists over that span. This included him recording two assists against the Syracuse Crunch on Sunday.
With his impressive hot streak, Helenius now has 18 goals, 35 assists, and 53 points in 53 games this season with the Amerks. This is after he had 14 goals and 35 points in 65 games with the AHL squad last season. With this, the young forward has certainly taken a nice step forward this campaign, and it will be interesting to see how he finishes off the campaign from here.
There is no question that the Sabres have themselves a very good prospect in Helenius.
