Buffalo sends primarily a minor-league lineup on the road against Pittsburgh

Following another lopsided home preseason victory on Monday, the Buffalo Sabres will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second time in four days, but it will be a vastly different group in action at PPG Paints Arena for both clubs. The Penguins dressed primarily the same lineup that participated in the Prospects Challenge last week except for a few veterans like Jesse Puljujarvi and Ryan Graves, while the Sabres played all but one of the starting forward lines and all of their blueliners except injured star Rasmus Dahlin.

On Tuesday, the Penguins will be sprinkling in a few more veterans like Anthony Beauvillier, Noel Acciari, Cody Glass, Blake Lizotte, and Alex Nedeljkovic, but the Sabres lineup will be the opening night lineup for the AHL Rochester Americans.

The Sabres practiced at Key Bank Center on Tuesday morning with some extra bodies that head coach Lindy Ruff indicated will be accompanying the club to Germany and Czechia the next couple of weeks in case of injuries during the trip.
