Former Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane could be out for a while.

It appears that former Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane will likely miss the beginning of the season for the Edmonton Oilers.
According to Bob Stauffer, there is "a very good chance" that Kane could undergo surgery and be placed on LTIR at the start of the 2024-25 campaign.
Kane, 33, revealed during the spring that he played through a sports hernia for much of this past season. Because of it, he also missed some time during the Oilers' playoff run. However, at this juncture, the exact reason why Kane may need surgery has not been revealed.

Kane appeared in 77 games this past season with the Oilers, recording 24 goals, 44 points, and a career-high 250 hits.
