Former Buffalo Sabres star Jack Eichel is in the middle of a career season with the Vegas Golden Knights. In 69 games with Vegas this campaign, the 2015 second-overall pick has scored 23 goals and has already set new career highs with 64 assists and 87 points.

Eichel is only continuing to stay hot as this season rolls on, and he has now been rewarded for it. The former Sabres captain was named the Second Star of the Week by the NHL for the week of March 17 to March 23.

When looking at Eichel's stats during the week, it is easy to understand why he has been named Second Star. He was simply dominant during it, posting two goals and seven points in just three games. This included scoring a goal and recording three assists in Vegas' March 22 contest against the Detroit Red Wings.

Eichel's ongoing hot streak started before this past week, too. In his last 12 games, the North Chelmsford, Massachusetts native has four goals and 18 points.
