OTP - Could Appert Be An Assistant Under Ruff?

The Florida Panthers bounced back from failing to sweep the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 4 with a 6-1 victory in Sunrise, FL, eliminating their Sunshine State counterpart in five games. As opposed to most of the series, when former Buffalo Sabres players were central figures in their victories, only Evan Rodrigues registered a point in the contest.

The Panthers will take on the winner of the Toronto – Boston series, which will play Game 5 tonight at TD Garden.

Here is how other ex-Sabres did on Monday:

Tampa Bay Lightning - Brandon Hagel, Conor Sheary

The former Sabres draft pick had an assist and went -2 in just over 20 minutes in the loss to Florida and ended the postseason with five points (2 goals, 3 assists) in five games. Sheary did not play in the series.

Vegas Golden Knights – Jack Eichel, Brayden McNabb, William Carrier

The former Sabres captain scored his third goal of the postseason to put the Golden Knights ahead in the second period, but Wyatt Johnston and Ty Dellandrea responded to give the Stars a 3-2 lead and that held up. The normally low-scoring McNabb had an assist in the loss and has four points (2 goals, 2 assists) in the series. Through four games, neither team has won on home ice.

McNabb, 1 assist, 21:26 TOI, 1 SOG, +1
