Alex Tuch is off to a great start with the Capitals.

Former Buffalo Sabres star Alex Tuch made his debut for the Washington Capitals on Friday night, and it is certainly fair to say that it was a good one.

Tuch left a great first impression with the Capitals, as he scored two goals in their 5-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes. This included him scoring the game-opening goal for Washington at the 6:33 mark of the first period.

Seeing Tuch put up such a strong performance in his first game with the Capitals is not too surprising. He was a very impactful forward during his time with the Sabres, so there is no reason to believe that he won't be with the Capitals.

The Sabres moved on from Tuch this off-season in a sign-and-trade deal with the Capitals. He landed himself a nice payday in the process, as he signed an eight-year, $84 million contract. With this, the former Sabres star is set to be a Capital for a long time.

Tuch spent five seasons with the Sabres from 2021-22 to 2025-26, where he posted 139 goals, 170 assists, and 309 points. Overall, he had a strong tenure in Buffalo, and it will be interesting to see what he can do as a Capital from here.
