Former Sabres goalie Devon Levi had a rough start to his Oilers tenure.

Former Buffalo Sabres goalie Devon Levi made his Edmonton Oilers debut on Thursday night, and it was certainly a rough one.

Levi allowed seven goals on just 22 shots for the Oilers against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday. With this, the former Sabres goalie finished the contest with an ugly .682 save percentage.

Yet, as poorly as Levi played in his debut, he actually picked up the win. This is because the Oilers defeated the Canucks by a ridiculous 9-7 final score.

Now, after struggling in his Oilers debut, Levi will be looking to bounce back when he gets his next opportunity to start. The Oilers' starting goaltending job is still up for grabs, as Frederik Andersen is injured and Tristan Jarry has also struggled. Thus, Levi needs to get things back on track quickly if he hopes to become Edmonton's new starter.

Levi appeared in 39 games over three seasons with the Sabres from 2022-23 to 2024-25. During them, he posted a 17-17-2 record, an .894 save percentage, and a 3.29 goals-against average.
