JJ Peterka is having a good start to his tenure with the Bruins.
During the off-season, former Buffalo Sabres forward JJ Peterka was traded by the Utah Mammoth to the Boston Bruins.
This happened just one year after the Sabres traded Peterka to Utah. This was after the 24-year-old winger had a down year during his one season with the Mammoth, posting 25 goals and 47 points in 82 games.
So far, the trade to Boston is benefiting Peterka, as he is off to a great start with the Original Six club this season.
Peterka has scored a goal in each of his first two games with the Bruins. This included him scoring Boston's overtime winning goal against the Winnipeg Jets on Friday. With this, the former Sabres forward is making an immediate impact for the Bruins.
Seeing Peterka having a great start with the Bruins is not too surprising. He showed during his time with the Sabres that he is capable of providing strong offense when playing at his best. This was especially the case in 2024-25, as he posted 27 goals and 68 points in 77 games.
In 238 games over four seasons with the Sabres from 2021-22 to 2024-25, Peterka posted 67 goals, 83 assists, and 150 points.
