Ex-Files Day #8; O’Reilly on the brink of elimination as Predators lose in OT

OTP - Sabres Need To Find New Leadership

Colorado Avalanche - Casey Mittelstadt

The Avs took a commanding 3-1 lead in their first-round series with the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday with a 5-1 win. Mittelstadt set up Artturi Lehkonen for Colorado’s opening goal in the first period and played 14:01 on the night, with a club-leading five shots on goal.

Edmonton Oilers – Evander Kane

Kane, 16:23 TOI, 2 SOG

Oilers with an uncharacteristic 1-0 win take a 3-1 lead over the Los Angeles Kings. Kane has not been a significant offensive contributor, with two points in four games, but has been a physical presence and an irritant.

Nashville Predators - Ryan O’Reilly

O’Reilly had an assist and led all Nashville forwards with 22:59 in a 4-3 overtime loss to Vancouver, and had another uncharacteristically bad night in the faceoff circle in Game 4, winning less than 50% of his draws.

New York Rangers – Jimmy Vesey

Vesey 11:47 TOI, 1 SOG, -1

The Rangers completed a sweep of the Washington Capitals with a 4-2 win on Sunday and will play the winner of the Carolina Hurricanes – New York Islanders series.

Vancouver Canucks – Tyler Myers, Nikita Zadorov

Myers, 20:36 TOI

Zadorov, 22:31 TOI, 2 SOG

The Canucks improbably came back from a 3-1 deficit with two goals from Brock Boeser in the last three minutes of regulation and won on an Elias Lindholm goal in overtime. Vancouver won with third-stringer Arturs Silovs in goal with both starter Thatcher Demko and backup Casey DeSmith out injured.  Even though the Preds are down 3-1 in the series, they conceivably still have a chance in this series with their opponent short-handed.
