Colorado's Gabriel Landeskog and Winnpeg's Jonathan Toews are the other finalists
Buffalo Sabres team captain Rasmus Dahlin was named one of the three finalists for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy on Monday. The trophy is awarded “to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey” and is determined by the votes of the 32 chapters of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
Dahlin had a career-best 74 points (19 goals, 55 assists) and led the Sabres to their first playoff appearance in 15 years, and also played for Sweden in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina. A feat made more remarkable based on the personal upheaval he endured in the off-season, as his fiancée Carolina suffered a significant health event that led to the loss of their unborn child and the need for a heart transplant.
Other Sabres Stories
The 26-year-old left the club on a number of occasions to see to his fiancée, but it did not take away from his performance on the ice.
Colorado forward and Team Sweden teammate Gabriel Landeskog and Winnipeg Jets center Jonathan Toews were also named as finalists.
