Buffalo shakes up roster after fourth straight loss

Buffalo shakes up roster after fourth straight loss

Sabres Acquire Eric Robinson From Columbus

The Buffalo Sabres 5-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday marked their fourth loss in a row and appears to have forced the hand of GM Kevyn Adams to shake up the club’s roster after bringing back everyone who came within one point of making the playoffs in the Eastern Conference last season.

The Sabres have acquired forward Eric Robinson from the Columbus Blue Jackets for a conditional 2025 seventh-round pick.

Robinson, 28, was undrafted free agent signing of the Jackets in 2018 after playing four years at Princeton University and in 266 NHL games, has scored 82 points (38 goals, 44 assists). This season, the 6’2”, 205 lb. winger has one goal in seven games with Columbus, and four points (1 goal, 3 assists) in nine games with the AHL Cleveland Monsters.

The club made a corresponding roster move to open up a spot for Robinson, returning forward Brandon Biro to the Rochester Americans of the AHL. The Sabres departed for Boston before the trade was announced, but it is expected that Robinson will join the club before their game against the Bruins on Thursday night.
