This Sabres defenseman is finally on the board.

The Buffalo Sabres got an impressive win today, defeating the Edmonton Oilers by a 3-2 final score in the shootout. Seeing the Sabres beat one of the best teams in the NHL is quite encouraging, and they will look to build off it for the remainder of the season.
However, this win will be extra special to Sabres defenseman Jacob Bryson, as he notched his first goal of the season, which was a big one. The left-shot defenseman scored the game-tying goal at the 11:39 mark of the third period, forcing overtime. It was a beauty, too, as he beat Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner with a perfectly placed backhand shot.
Bryson, 26, has had a tough season. He has not been a regular in the Sabres' lineup and has even spent time in the AHL. As a result, this goal must be extra sweet for the 2017 fourth-round pick. Now, his top objective will be to keep it going.

In 19 games this season with the Sabres, Bryson now has one goal, five points, and a plus-2 rating.
