This Sabres prospect is continuing to impress in the AHL.

Buffalo Sabres prospect Konsta Helenius is a young player who the Atlantic Division club is hoping will become a big part of their roster in the future. It is understandable, as the 2024 first-round pick has the potential to become a legitimate top-six forward.

Helenius showed promise when called up to Buffalo's roster earlier this season, as he recorded one goal, four points, and a plus-1 rating in nine games. Yet, Helenius is back in the AHL with the Rochester Americans right now and is playing some strong hockey.

Since early February, Helenius has been red-hot for the Amerks. In his last 14 games with the AHL club, the 5-foot-11 forward has recorded six goals and 15 points. With numbers like these, there is no question that the skilled forward has been consistent with Rochester.

With his strong stretch of play, Helenius now has 15 goals, 30 assists, and 45 points in 48 games this season with Rochester. This is after he had 35 points in 65 games last season for the AHL squad, so it is clear that he has taken a nice step in the right direction with his development this campaign.

It will now be interesting to see how Helenius finishes off the season from here.
