On March 25, the Buffalo Sabres recalled forward Isak Rosen from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Rochester Americans. The decision to call up the 2021 first-round pick is already benefitting the Sabres early on.
During the Sabres' March 27 contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Rosen recorded his first NHL point by picking up the primary assist on Mattias Samuelsson's second-period goal. Rosen's assist was a nice one, too, as the promising prospect gave Samuelsson a perfect cross-ice feed before the left-shot defenseman fired it home.
Rosen has demonstrated his offensive potential big-time this season with Rochester. In 55 games this campaign with the AHL squad, he has 27 goals, 27 assists, and 54 points. Now, he is showing off his offensive skills with the NHL squad.
It will now be intriguing to see if Rosen can build off this good assist while with the Sabres from here.
