On a recent episode of TSN's Insider Trading, NHL insider Darren Dreger reported that Buffalo Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams is aggressively looking to make a move.
"I'm told that Kevyn Adams, the GM of the Buffalo Sabres, has really been on the phone nonstop over the last week (before the holiday roster freeze)," Dreger said. "That would align with the Buffalo Sabres status. They are in the midst of this winless streak, so to some degree, the sharks have been circling. But look, Kevyn Adams is willing to do something. He's willing to do something big."

Dreger also added:
"But what's the definition of a top player? Teams are calling, looking to take advantage of the Sabres and their situation. But they want Buffalo's top players. They're willing to give decent players, but they haven't agreed on what the definition of the return of a top player is."
Hearing that Adams is willing to make a significant move is unsurprising. The Sabres extended their winless streak to 13 games last night against the Boston Bruins, so at least one move is needed.
Once the holiday roster freeze is over on Dec. 28, we should expect Adams to continue to browse the trade market.
