Could the Sabres make a big deal with their division rival?

When looking at the Buffalo Sabres' current roster, it is fair to argue that they could use another top-six forward. This is especially so when noting that they moved on from Alex Tuch during the off-season.

Due to this, the Sabres are now being viewed as a potential fit for one of the NHL's top trade candidates.

In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Lyle Richardson named the Sabres among the top potential landing spots for Boston Bruins forward Pavel Zacha.

"Pavel Zacha could be an attractive rental option for the Sabres if younger options like Noah Ostlund, Jiri Kulich, or Konsta Helenius aren't ready for the role," Richardson wrote. "His experience could be as invaluable to the Sabres as his versatility and two-way skills."

With the Sabres looking to build off their successful 2025-26 season, it would make sense if they pursued Zacha. He would have the potential to provide their top six with a nice boost if brought in.

Zacha appeared in 78 games during this past season with the Bruins, where he recorded 30 goals, 35 assists, 65 points, and a plus-4 rating. With numbers like these, he would be a strong addition to the Sabres' roster if successfully acquired.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if the Sabres end up making a push to acquire Zacha from here.
