The Buffalo Sabres have undoubtedly had a busy off-season. They have made multiple changes to their roster and will be looking to take another step in the right direction next season.

Yet, after moving on from Alex Tuch this off-season, it is fair to argue that the Sabres could use another impactful forward in their top six. 

In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Erik Beaston predicted that the Sabres will end up being the team that signs Kane this off-season. 

"While a reunion with the Blackhawks would be apropos, Buffalo has been linked to Kane since he hit the free-agent market, with many believing he will return to his hometown to finish out his career," Beaston wrote. "Prediction: Kane signs a short-term deal with the Sabres." 

With the Sabres being in need of another high-impact forward, it would make sense if they brought in a future Hall of Famer like Kane. He could slot nicely on their second line if signed and would also give them a player who has won the Stanley Cup three times.

In 67 games last season with the Detroit Red Wings, Kane posted 16 goals, 41 assists, and 57 points.

With the Sabres taking a step forward last season and losing Tuch this summer, now feels like the right time for the Sabres to sign Kane. It would make for a great story, but time will tell if it does, in fact, come to fruition.
