    Sabres Shakeup Struggling Power Play

The Buffalo Sabres went through their paces at practice on Tuesday at LECOM Harborcenter before heading out on a three-game road trip starting in Pittsburgh on Wednesday. The club concentrated on special teams drills for most of the workout, and head coach Lindy Ruff made some changes to the power play units that have been far from effective.

Through four games against New Jersey, Los Angeles, and Florida, the Sabres have gone 0-for-14 with the man advantage. Ruff previously indicated that the injury to JJ Peterka forced him to shift personnel, but now the young winger is on the verge of returning to the lineup.

The Sabres shifted defenseman Owen Power to the top unit with Rasmus Dahlin, Tage Thompson, Dylan Cozens, and Jason Zucker, while wingers Alex Tuch and Jack Quinn moved down to the second power play with Bowen Byram, Zach Benson, and Jiri Kulich, with Peterka occasionally being mixed in.

Buffalo broke out with five goals in their victory over Florida on Saturday but must get their special teams producing to not be so reliant on five-on-five production against the Penguins, Columbus, and Chicago during their stretch of three games in four nights.
