The Sabres should strongly consider bringing in Eeli Tolvanen.

The Buffalo Sabres have had an eventful off-season. Yet, when looking at their current roster, it is fair to argue that they should not be done making moves.

The Sabres could use another solid winger to strengthen their forward depth. When looking at the free agents who are still available for the taking, Eeli Tolvanen is a player who is worth some consideration.

It is a bit surprising that Tolvanen has not been signed at this point in the off-season. The 27-year-old is a solid all-around player who provides decent secondary offensive production, kills penalties, and throws the body. With this, it would make sense if the Sabres looked to add him to their bottom six.

In 78 games last season with the Seattle Kraken, Tolvanen posted 12 goals, 24 assists, 36 points, and 187 points. This was after he scored a career-high 23 goals and recorded 35 points in 81 games for Seattle in 2024-25. He also threw over 200 hits during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. With numbers like these, he would be an interesting player for Buffalo to bring in on a short-term deal.

Overall, with the Sabres needing more forward depth, Tolvanen is a free agent worth considering. It will be intriguing to see if they sign him from here.
