The Buffalo Sabres picked up a significant 4-3 shootout win against the Washington Capitals last night. With this, they snapped their three-game losing streak and did so against the Eastern Conference's top team.
Sabres forward JJ Peterka played a significant role in the win, as he had a big night. The 22-year-old forward made a big difference offensively, recording two assists and five shots. However, his biggest moment of the night was when he scored the shootout winner to secure two points for the Sabres.

Peterka's shootout goal was a beauty, too, as he showed patience with the puck while skating in before beating Capitals goalie Charlie Lindgren with a perfectly placed snapshot.
With his big night, Peterka now has 10 goals and 30 points in 39 games this season and four assists over his last three games. This was certainly a nice way for Peterka to celebrate his 200th career NHL game.
