Buffalo Sabres star Tage Thompson has been red-hot as the 2024-25 season nears its conclusion. In his last 24 games, the 6-foot-6 forward has scored 17 goals and recorded 26 points. With this, he has been nothing short of excellent.

Due to his extremely hot stretch of play, Thompson is now nearing an impressive stat for the 2024-25 season. The 2016 first-round pick needs to score just one more time to hit the 40-goal mark for the second time in his eight-year career.

The only other time Thompson hit the 40-goal mark was during the 2022-23, when he scored 47. Now, he is closing in on scoring 40 goals again in what has been a strong bounce-back season for the star.

The Sabres have eight games remaining, so Thompson certainly still has time to score one more time before it is complete. It will be fascinating to see if he can hit the 40-goal mark before the end of the campaign from here.
