This Sabres goalie had a great night down in the AHL with Rochester.

On Nov. 18, the Buffalo Sabres assigned goaltender Devon Levi to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Rochester Americans. Head coach Lindy Ruff said the move was made because he wanted Levi to get more consistent starts.

Levi, 22, appeared in seven games with the Sabres before being sent down, where he had a 2-5-0 record, a 3.95 goals-against average (GAA), and a .870 save percentage (SV%). Overall, the 2020 seventh-round pick had a tough start to the season, but he is starting to build on his confidence with Rochester.

In his latest appearance with the Amerks on Friday (Nov. 29), Levi recorded his first professional shutout in a 3-0 win over the Syracuse Crunch. The young netminder stopped all 20 Crunch shots he faced for the win.

Putting together a performance like this is undoubtedly a step in the right direction for Levi. With this, he now has a 2-1-1 record, a .900 SV%, and a 2.45 GAA in five appearances this season with the AHL squad.
