Kyle Okposo is on the move.

The Buffalo Sabres have made a notable move, trading captain Kyle Okposo to the Florida Panthers in exchange for a conditional 2024 seventh-round pick and Calle Sjalin. If the Panthers win the Stanley Cup, the seventh-round pick will turn into a fifth-round pick.
There were plenty of rumblings over the prospect of Okposo being dealt before the deadline, and now it has come to fruition. The veteran winger will now get the opportunity to play for a contender and compete for the Stanley Cup.
Okposo should be a nice fit for the Panthers as they prepare for the postseason. He should work nicely on their fourth line and provide their bottom six with not only more offensive production but also leadership.

This marks the end of a memorable eight-year stint with the Sabres for Okposo. In 516 games with the Sabres, he had 102 goals and 243 points.
