Devon Levi's time with the Sabres is officially over.

After months of trade rumors, Devon Levi's time with the Buffalo Sabres is over.

The Sabres have traded Levi and a seventh-round pick to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a 2028 third-round pick.

It was no secret that Levi was expected to be traded this summer, as there was simply no longer a fit for him on the Sabres' roster. The young goaltender spent all of this season in the AHL, while Buffalo had Alex Lyon, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, and Colten Ellis all on their NHL roster. Because of this, it makes sense that Levi has been dealt.

Now, Levi should have a real chance at receiving consistent playing time with the Oilers. Edmonton will be hoping that he can tap into his potential and provide them with an answer between the pipes. If he breaks out in Edmonton, he could end up becoming their starter later down the road.

In 39 games with the Sabres from 2022-3 to 2024-25, Levi posted a 17-17-2 record, a 3.29 goals-against average, and an .894 save percentage. In 52 AHL games this past campaign with the Rochester Americans, he posted a 23-20-9 record, a 2.83 goals-against average, and a .904 save percentage.
