2019 draft pick spent parts of two seasons with Rochester before being traded to Montreal

The Buffalo Sabres made a minor deal earlier this month sending forward Filip Cederqvist to the Montreal Canadiens for future considerations. The winger had some success in his first year in North America, but a report out of Sweden is indicating that Cederqvist will complete the final year of his contract and will sign with Frolunda of the SHL.
The 2019 draftee played at various levels in Sweden for three seasons before signing a two-year entry-level contract with the Sabres and in his first season with the AHL Rochester Americans, the 23-year-old had 20 points (9 goals, 11 assists) in 55 games and three assists in the Amerks run to the Calder Cup Eastern Conference Final.
This season, the big left winger struggled out of the gate, with just one goal and three assists in 19 games before being dealt to the Canadiens on January 11th and assigned to their AHL affiliate in Laval, where he has one assist in four games for the Rockets.
With his ELC expiring and making just $70,000 US in the AHL, it is possible that the big winger can make more going back to the SHL, where he had 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) with Djurgardens two years ago.
