During last night's All-Star Game draft, Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin was selected with the 12th overall pick by Team McDavid. As a result, Dahlin will have the great opportunity to play with the NHL's best player.

While McDavid is a generational talent, that does not mean that he refuses to recognize other great players in the league. Following the draft, reporters asked the 2015 first-overall pick what it is like playing against Dahlin. In response, McDavid had nothing but compliments about the Sabres' top defenseman.

Here is what McDavid had to say about Dahlin: "He's a player that just is getting better and better. He's added kind of a physical element to his game. Obviously, offensively, he's as gifted as you'll see on the back end. He's just a great player. That's why we drafted him."

Dahlin, 23, certainly is among the top defensemen in the NHL. He currently leads all defensemen in goals with 13 and has 38 points in 48 games played. McDavid also was absolutely correct about Dahlin's increased physicality. He currently has 90 hits on the season, and his career-high is 121 hits. He is well on pace to pass that during this campaign.

Nevertheless, it is great to see Dahlin get some praise from McDavid. It will be fun to see what kind of magic they create during tomorrow's All-Star Game from here.
