The Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday unveiled their Quarter-Century rosters, consisting of a first and second-team of three forwards (regardless of position), two defensemen, and one goaltender who played for the club between 2000 and 2025 voted on by a panel of former players, broadcasters, and members of the media.

The First Team consisted of forwards Daniel Briere, Jason Pominville, and Thomas Vanek, defensemen Brian Campbell and Rasmus Dahlin, and goaltender Ryan Miller. The Second Team consisted of forwards Chris Drury, Jack Eichel, and Derek Roy, defensemen Jay McKee and Tyler Myers, and goalie Dominik Hasek.

Pominville (521) and Vanek (497) were the two highest scorers in the 25 years, while Briere had the highest points-per-game (1.02) of any player. Drury led the Sabres to a pair of Eastern Conference Final appearances in 2006 and 2007, while Roy (427) and Eichel (355) were third and fourth in scoring over the last quarter century.

Dahlin led all Buffalo blueliners with 323 points in 471 games since being drafted first overall in 2018, while Campbell is third in defensive scoring (171 pts). Myers won the 2010 Calder Trophy and was fourth among Sabres defensemen with 171 points, while McKee was a defensive stalwart for the two Eastern Conference Final clubs.

Miller was an unquestioned top selection in goal, with a 284-186-57 record, 2.60 GAA, and .916 save percentage, while Hasek, who was dealt after the 2000-01 campaign, had a sparkling 51-31-9 record, 2.06 GAA, and .922 save %.

Notable omissions to the list include forwards Jochen Hecht (345 pts), and Miroslav Satan (310 pts), defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen (the second-highest scoring blueliner behind Dahlin – 245 pts), and goalie Martin Biron (second to Miller in career victories – 120) , who was traded to Philadelphia in 2007.

And right now, it's like the SS Lindy is heading right for the iceberg again. I don't know what's going on with this team. Well, I mean, the, the, the exasperation from Lindy after the game yesterday, I mean, because okay, they have the 13 game winless skid and you're not going to diminish that because that destroyed their season. But after that, they've gone five, two, and one in the last eight games and played markedly better. But the problem is, is they're not going anywhere. They don't, they were seven or eight points out of a playoff spot at that point. After five, two, and one, they were still seven or eight points. They're not making the playoffs. I'm sorry. I had, I'd love to have a playoff. And they may have a run where they get closer, but they're just too inconsistent. They just have too many gaps in their game.
