Sportico determines the value according to “the sum of the enterprise value of an NHL franchise, combined with the value of team-related businesses and real estate holdings”. Buffalo’s Eastern Conference rivals, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the NY Rangers, were ranked as the top two most valuable franchises, with Toronto at $3.66 billion and New York at $3.25 billion.
