The Calgary Flames acquired former first-round pick Morgan Frost from the Philadelphia Flyers. Here are five things to know about the 25-year-old.
The Calgary Flames made a trade with the Philadelphia Flyers late Thursday night, bringing in Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost while shipping out Andrei Kuzmenko and Jakob Pelletier.
Frost has spent the entirety of his NHL career with Philadelphia, which drafted him 27th overall in the 2017 Draft.
In six seasons, Frost has a career-high of 19 goals and 46 points, which occurred during the 2022-23 season. He has 50 goals and 85 assists for 135 points in 278 games.
Here are five things to know about the 25-year-old from Aurora, ON, who will wear No. 16 with the Flames.
Frost was the 27th pick in the 2017 Draft, which included some of today's top stars, such as Elias Pettersson, Nico Hischier, Cale Makar, and Nick Suzuki.

Thus far, only 21 picks from that year's draft class have scored over 100 points in the NHL, including Frost, who has compiled the 16th most points (135).
Pettersson leads the way with 445 points, followed by Hischier (396) and Calgary native Makar (393). Only ten skaters have surpassed 200 points.
Frost, who skated with the Soo Greyhounds in the OHL from 2015 to 2019, was twice selected to the league's First All-Star Team as an alternate captain in his final season.
He was a member of the OHL's First All-Star team in 2017-18, registering the league's best plus/minus rating at plus-70, and was named the OHL Player of the Week in mid-December.
A year later, in 2018-19, Frost was again on the OHL First All-Star Team and had the most assists in the league, with 72.
As mentioned, Frost played with the Greyhounds for four seasons, crossing paths with one of the Flames' top prospects, Rory Kerins.
However, they were only teammates for one season, 2018-19. That year, Frost finished his OHL career with a bang, scoring 109 points in 58 games, while Kerins debuted by scoring 23 points in 57 games.
Eventually, Kerins followed Frost, became an alternate captain, and finished his OHL days with 118 points, beating out his future teammate's totals.
As mentioned, Frost has 50 goals in the NHL, scoring 19, 13, and 11 over the past three seasons. He's more of an even-strength goalscorer with 43, tallying only six power-play goals and one shorthanded lamplighter.

Meanwhile, Frost is 1-for-1 on penalty shot attempts, firing one past then-Arizona Coyotes netminder Karel Vejmelka during a game on Feb. 12, 2024.
He became the 27th player in Flyers history to score a penalty shot goal, joining a list that includes Brian Propp, Eric Lindros, Simon Gagne, and Sean Couturier.
In Frost's first season in the OHL, he scored just seven goals and 27 points in 65 games. He doubled those totals in his second season, finishing the campaign with 20 goals and 62 points.
During his third season with the Greyhounds, Frost doubled his previous point totals again, scoring 42 goals and 112 points in 67 games. He was the only skater on his team to reach 100 points and finished second in OHL scoring.
In his final season, Frost again reached triple digits, finishing with 109 points in 58 games thanks to 37 goals and a personal best of 72 assists.
Frost finished fourth in the OHL scoring race, which Jason Robertson won with 117 points. Frost was the only Soo player with more than 100 points.
