The Calgary Flames finally scored a power-play goal. Actually two.
But they couldn’t cue up another third-period comeback and dropped a 4-3 home clash with the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.
Mikael Backlund snapped Calgary’s 0-for-17 man-advantage slump with his first-period tally, but Calgary (10-11-3) was not able to overcome the two-goal deficit en route to seeing the two-game winning streak snapped.
The Flames surrendered the first goal for the sixth consecutive outing, and 12th time in 14 games.
Elias Lindholm scored twice, including another man-advantage marker in the final minute, but it wasn’t enough against the Canucks.
Quinn Hughes, Sam Lafferty, Ilya Mikheyev and former Flame Nikita Zadorov scored for the Canucks (16-8-1). Defenceman Filip Hronek collected two assists.
Check back Sunday morning for the takeaways.
