As the Calgary Flames prepare for an offseason of regrouping and getting ready for the 2024-25 season, rumors have circulated that they have interest in Anaheim Ducks winger Trevor Zegras.

According to a report from The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta, the Flames have expressed interest in the 23-year-old, among other teams.

It is unknown what Zegras' trade value looks like as of this moment. The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun stated in a recent article that the Ducks have set a high asking price for Zegras and that the Ducks are looking to deepen their lineup with more experienced forwards. Zegras is coming off an underwhelming season in Anaheim, where he played only 31 games and recorded just 15 points.

We are all aware of just how skilled Zegras is. While he still has plenty of inconsistencies in his game, you pay for his creativity and ability to create. Prior to this season, Zegras posted two straight years of 23 goals. I mean, his highlight reel is already ridiculous.

Should Zegras get traded, it will be interesting to see the package going the other way for him. Do the Flames have the right sort of pieces that would attract Anaheim into a deal? It remains to be seen, but adding Zegras to the Flames lineup certainly adds some flare, excitement, and he would bolster an already solid group of wingers the Flames currently have on their roster.

At a cap hit of $5.75 million for two more years, Zegras wouldn't break the bank in terms of the salary cap. Considering the asking price is high, it will be interesting to see what a return would look like should the talented winger get traded.
