    Hockey Canada has announced Calgary Flames head coach Ryan Huska will serve as an assistant coach at the upcoming World Championships from May 9-25 in Sweden and Denmark. He will be alongside Nashville head coach Andrew Brunette, and Blue Jackets assistant Steve McCarthy under Columbus head coach Dean Evason who will lead Team Canada’s staff.

    The 49-year-old has compiled a 79-66-19 record in his two seasons as head coach of Calgary, after being assistant for five years with the organization.

    He was also an assistant coach with Team Canada at the 2011 and 2012 World Junior Championships that won silver and bronze respectively, as well as for the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets that won the 2004 Memorial Cup.
