

The OHL announced on Friday afternoon that Calgary Flames prospect Henry Mews was named the league's Defenceman of the Month.
In 11 games with the Ottawa 67's, Mews had four goals with 16 assists for 20 points. He registered six multi-point games with his best performance, four assists, in a 5-4 shootout win over the Barrie Colts on Dec. 14.
Moreover, Mews had two lengthy point streaks in the month, scoring in every game but the contest against the North Bay Battalion on Dec. 15.
He had 39 shots on goal and finished the month with a minus-1 rating with 20 penalty minutes. Meanwhile, the 67's finished the month 5-5-1.
In Ottawa's first game of 2025, Mews went up against another top Flames prospect, Zayne Parekh, whose Saginaw Spirit picked up a 5-2 victory on Jan. 2.
Mews extended his point streak to five games with an assist and shot on goal, finishing the night minus-1, while Parekh scored a goal to extend his point streak to three games.
As a third-round (74th overall) pick from the 2024 Draft, Mews has 141 points in 155 OHL games, thanks to 38 goals and 108 assists.
