Calgary prospect Etienne Morin and the Moncton Wildcats will be headed to the 2025 Memorial Cup as QMJHL Champions after beating the Rimouski Oceanic 3-2 in Game Six of the QMJHL Finals taking the series 4-2.
Morin was outstanding throughout the playoffs putting up two goals and 20 points in 19 games. His points total are the highest by a defenceman in the post-season. His 18 assists trail only fellow teammate and playoff MVP Caleb Desnoyers' 21.
He was also impressive on the power play during the playoffs, putting up a league-high 10 assists. His 11 power play points were second only to Rimouski's Jonathan Fauchon.
In the QMJHL Finals, the Quebec native scored the most power play points with five.
He will join fellow Flames prospect Andrew Basha of the WHL Champions Medicine Hat Tigers in the Memorial Cup that starts on Friday.
Look for Morin to thrill in the four-team tournament.
