The Calgary Flames have announced Jonathan Huberdeau as their nominee for the 2025 King Clancy Memorial Trophy. The King Clancy Memorial Trophy is an annual award given to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made important humanitarian contributions in his community.
Since joining the Flames from the Panthers, Huberdeau has been committed to making a positive impact to his Calgary community through his flagship initiative, Huby’s Hangout, where he buys a private suite at the Scotiabank Saddledome for underprivileged youths, who otherwise are unable to afford the luxury of witnessing live hockey action in Calgary.
On the ice, Huberdeau has been the second-highest scorer for the Flames. His goals and points totals in the 2024-25 season are the best in a Calgary jersey. Huberdeau has been an excellent asset in the penalty kill, as his 14:01 minutes of ice-time trail only center Mikael Backlund’s 16:09 in Calgary forwards’ time on ice during the penalty kill since March 26. During that time, the Flames penalty kill has ranked first, going 17-for-18 (94.4%).
