The Flames forward will represent Team Canada in Prague for the IIHF World Championships.

As the Stanley Cup Playoffs continue on, top players not participating in the postseason are representing their countries at the IIHF World Championships in Prague, Czechia. On another loaded Team Canada squad, Andrew Mangiapane is set to have a major role when the tournament starts .

The 28-year-old is making his second appearance on the World Championship scene. He played in the 2021 version of the tournament in the bubble in Riga, Latvia, where he burst out on the international stage. He totaled 11 points in seven games and was named the tournament's most valuable player as well as bringing a gold medal back to Canada. Mangiapane found the back of the net twice that year against the United States to send Canada to the gold medal game.

Team Canada opens up play against Great Britain on Saturday, May 11 in Group A, followed by games against Denmark, Austria, and Norway before finishing up group play against the likes of Finland, Switzerland, and Czechia.

Mangiapane will be joined in Prague by Flames youngster Martin Pospisil who will represent Team Slovakia.
