With the NHL Draft just hours away, Calgary is looking to get aggressive.

As the NHL Draft day rumors continue to swirl, the Calgary Flames are looking to make moves.

According to Anthony Di Marco of The Fourth Period, Calgary inquired to Montreal over the 5th overall pick in tonight's draft.

It remains to be seen what exactly would be involved from Calgary's side to acquire the pick. One would presume at least one of the team's first round picks would be in play. A top prospect would certainly be an option. Or....could someone on the team could be dealt?

David Pagnotta, reporting for The Fourth Period as well, reported today that Calgary is kicking tires around the league on center Nazem Kadri.

As Pagnotta said, there is a full no-move clause for Kadri, making a trade only possible should the player grant it. Would he be in play for a pick inside the top 5? That remains to be seen.

Kadri has completed only two years of a 7-year, $49 million contract. It would be a huge departure for the Flames as Kadri had 16 more points than anyone else on the roster this past season. He also brings reliability in the faceoff dot to go along with very solid goal-scoring numbers. A Kadri trade would truly set in motion a rebuild Craig Conroy has already started to carry on with the trade of Andrew Mangiapane Thursday.
