Littler, a 2022 seventh-round draft pick, has moved from the USHL to the two-time league champions

Calgary Flames prospect Cade Littler is back in the BCHL and joining the powerhouse Penticton Vees.

Littler, Calgary’s 2022 seventh-round pick, began the season with the United States Hockey League’s Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and collected eight goals and 11 points in 14 games.

Littler, 19, spent the past two seasons with Wenatchee of the BCHL. Playing in hometown last season, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound forward collected 29 goals and 68 points in 51 regular-season games and added six points in 10 playoff games, a run that ended with a second-round loss to the Vees.

“Cade is a proven point producer in the BCHL and USHL. Cade is a player that we are very familiar with and a player that has the size and skill to make an immediate impact on our program,” said Vees’ president/GM/head coach Fred Harbinson in a statement.

Wenatchee is now home to a WHL club, with the Winnipeg Ice having moved there and renamed the Wild.

Littler is expected to make his debut this weekend with the Vees — the reigning two-time league champions who boast a 15-1-2-1 record.

He is committed to the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks.

The news follows on the heels that 2023 first-round pick Samuel Honzek is back skating with the Vancouver Giants. Honzek suffered an injury late in the NHL pre-season and has not played since. He is expected to be in action soon and play for Slovakia at the world juniors.
