St. Cloud State men's hockey fifth-year Kyler Kupka dribbles the puck in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference quarterfinals against Western Michigan. The Huskies won the series 3-1 on March 17 at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

The Calgary Wranglers added Kyler Kupka to their roster, signing the 25-year-old to a PTO ahead of their game against Coachella Valley on Saturday night.

As the Calgary Flames prepare for their first game back from the 4 Nations Face-off, they have plucked a handful of Wranglers players, including Adam Klapka and Ilya Solovyov.

Meanwhile, the Flames reassigned Yan Kuznetsov and Tyson Barrie, who cleared waivers on Friday afternoon.

Regarding the Wranglers' newest player, Kupka is a left-handed center who was recently named the ECHL Player of the Week and has 12 points in the past seven games with the South Carolina Stingrays.

The native of Camrose, AB, is playing his first season in the ECHL after a brief seven-game run last year. Before turning pro, Kupka skated five seasons at St. Cloud State University and four with the Camrose Kodiaks in the AJHL.

In the ECHL, Kupka has 28 goals and 55 points in 56 games, following a 32-goal and 85-point career in the NCAA.
