The Carolina Hurricanes have reportedly acquired winger Taylor Hall from the Chicago Blackhawks.

Hall, 33, is in the final year of a four-year, $6 million contract and over his 878 game career, he has 275 goals and 721 points.

The 2010 first overall pick has bounced around the league, as of late and is now onto his seventh team across his 15-year NHL career. He also underwent knee surgery in November of 2023 to repair a torn ACL in his right knee.

Since then, the veteran winger has only managed nine goals and 24 points in 46 games with the Blackhawks, but Carolina believes that there is still a valuable player there.

Despite the down years as of late, Hall was a proven scorer and power forward in his prime.

Hall has had seven 20+ goal seasons and his best year came in 2017-18 when he had 39 goals and 93 points, taking home the Hart Trophy that year as the league MVP.

UPDATE (9:30): Carolina is sending the Blackhawks their own 2025 third-round pick back as part of the deal for Hall. The Hawks are also retaining 50% of Mikko Rantanen's contract.

As more details about the trade become available, we will update accordingly.
