It seems that the Carolina Hurricanes will be without forward William Carrier for another game as he continues to deal with a lower-body injury.

Carrier, 30, missed Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins due to a lower-body injury and did not take part in the team's morning skate on Tuesday according to team reporter Walt Ruff.

"I thought [Carrier] was iffy for today," said Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour following Sunday's game. "So we'll probably know more maybe tomorrow. I don't know. Hopefully it's nothing serious."

The Hurricanes are in Tampa Bay for a game tonight against the Lightning.

Carrier, who has four goals and nine assists in 39 games this season, had played in Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild and finished that game, so it isn't clear yet what the problem may be.

Regardless, it's a tough blow for the Canes as Carrier was the team's hit leader and a valuable defensive winger.

In his place, Juha Jaaska will once again draw in.

"That says a lot about that kid because he played last night in Chicago and then gets on a plane today," Brind'Amour said on Jaaska's performance Sunday. "And he was impactful. He did a good job."
