The NHL Department of Player Safety has fined Carolina Hurricanes forward Jackson Blake $2,358.94, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for a slash against Anaheim Duck's defenseman Jacob Trouba.

The incident occurred midway through the third period of Carolina's Thursday night game in Anaheim, where Blake aggressively came down with his stick across the shoulder of Trouba.

Blake was seemingly incensed by a hit and extra shove  Trouba delivered to him along the benches, but his reaction was both over the top and dangerous.
