The Carolina Hurricanes dominated the Seattle Kraken Saturday night as they won 4-1 for their third straight win and fourth out of the five games so far on the road trip.
The Canes were easily the better team for three straight periods as they dominated at 5-on-5 and at special teams.
Carolina outchanced the Kraken by double and sometimes even triple every period and by the end of the game, they had a 39-19 shot edge and 67-18 even strength chance creation edge.
The Hurricanes wasted no time in jumping out to the lead as Andrei Svechnikov buried a gorgeous feed from Martin Necas on the team's first power play chance.
It was Svechnikov's second goal of the year and the ninth point of the season for Necas, who paces the team in that category.
From there, the Canes just continued to apply the pressure but Kraken netminder Joey Daccord was doing all he could to keep his club in the game.
However, the Canes broke through again late in the second period as Jack Drury grabbed his first of the season, finishing off a great pass from Jackson Blake on a 2-on-1.
It was also Blake's first career assist.
Seattle would cut the lead halfway through the third period as Jared McCann finished off a breakaway chance, but Seth Jarvis answered back by scoring on a breakaway of his own.
And what a filthy little move it was by Jarvis to undress Daccord too.
Dmitry Orlov would then ice the game with a flip out of the zone that made its way all the way down the ice into the empty net.
Not to be forgotten in the win was yet again another solid performance for Frederik Andersen.
The Dane made 18 saves in the win and while he wasn't tested often, when he did see a few dangerous chances come his way, he stoned nearly all of them.
The Canes will look to finish off the roadtrip on a positive note as they head to Vancouver to take on the Canucks Monday night.
