The Canes will play their first game of the season north of the border.

The Carolina Hurricanes opened their 2024-25 season by announcing the full opening roster.

What - Game 5 (2-2-0)
When - 9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22
Where - Rogers Place; Edmonton, AB, Canada
How to Watch - FanDuel Sports Network South

The Carolina Hurricanes will be playing their first game of the season in Canada tonight as they take on the Edmonton Oilers (2-4-0).

The Canes are coming off of a 4-3 loss to the St. Louis Blues where they honestly played a solid game, especially considering it was on the second half of a back-to-back, but a few mental mistakes cost them.

Edmonton has not had a good start to the season much like last year. They started the year losing three in a row and then after won two and then most recently lost 4-1 to the Dallas Stars.

The Oilers have been a defensive disaster so far so if the Canes can find a way to slow down Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl which is easier said than done, they'll probably come out ahead.
