The Carolina Hurricanes will look to extend their season-long winning streak to eight games as they take on the league worst San Jose Sharks (18-41-9) tonight in California.

The Hurricanes, who are coming off of a 5-0 shutout victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, have been the hottest team in the league since the trade deadline, having not allowed more than two goals in their last eight contests.

The Canes are also scoring in bunches and the team just feels like they're hitting their stride at just the right time.

The Sharks enter tonight's contest after a four-day break, having last played on March 15 (a 5-1 loss to the Washington Capitals).

The team has a lot of exciting young pieces, like 2024 first-overall pick Macklin Celebrini who looks like a stud at 18, but the team overall is still just so far from being competitive.
