The Canes defeated the Oilers 3-2 in overtime Tuesday night.

The Carolina Hurricanes pulled off a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers Tuesday night in overtime.
The Canes scored two third period goals from Shayne Gostisbehere and Martin Necas to force the extra period and Sebastian Aho iced the game with just under seven seconds remaining.
After the game, Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour along with Gostisbehere and netminder Frederik Andersen spoke with the media in Edmonton. Here's what they had to say:
Rod Brind'Amour
On the comeback win: I just think the guys... it's one of those games where anything wasn't going our way. Even when we had chances, we couldn't find ways to get a goal. It wasn't looking good, but they just kept playing and that's all you can do. Gotta give the guys a lot of credit for that and obviously for digging in and finding a way. Freddie too made some huge saves to keep us in it and then we made some really high-end plays to find some goals.
On Sebastian Aho's OT winner: You need your best players to step up. I mean, look at their goals. Who's making the plays? The best guys have to do that. They have to get on the scoresheet and our guys did tonight which obviously was the difference.
On the line changes: We shuffled it around trying to see if we could get some life. [Eric Robinson] didn't play much and then we put him up with those guys and he made a real nice play to Necas to get the tying goal. But at the end of the day, I thought it was a pretty even game all the way through, certainly exciting — a little too much for my liking — but I thought we fought back in a game that didn't look too good for a while there.
On Frederik Andersen: He just made some huge saves. We said going into the game, they're going to get chances. You can't stop, especially those two. They're going to create on their own and then they're a good team so they're going to create too. It's the nature of the game. We gave up a little too much obviously, but he made some huge saves. It was clear what was the difference tonight. Allowed us to at least hang in there and then, like I said, we made a couple of nice plays and that was the difference.
Martin Necas
On the game flow: We took four penalties in the first 30 minutes which kind of takes your momentum a little bit but then we got it going at the end of the second. We just scored a goal on the power play at the beginning of the third which kind of gave us hope and then we just rolled them over.
On Frederik Andersen: He was great. There was a lot of chances back and forth and he made some huge saves, not just in OT, but in the second and third as well. He was amazing.
On being able to utilize his speed tonight: You see that they're playing man-on-man and especially in overtime, you get a little more space, build up your speed when they're a little tired. Just great plays by all of us and standard Freddie back there.
Frederik Andersen
On the game: You don't want to go down three, that's a big hole to climb out of, but we had obviously a great power play coming in to start the third and got some momentum and kept on going and got rewarded for it tonight.
On the never say die attitude: I think we have a good group in here. We're just trying to play our way. Our identity is just hard work really. Try to grind them down and eventually get rewarded. Have some good players still, tons of skill, but the work has to come first. We're just happy we were able to claw back and get two points.
On Sebastian Aho: He's dangerous. Obviously he's great on both sides of the puck and he can sniff out some offense obviously. That was huge tonight.
On facing Connor McDavid: You don't want to really take any breaks out there, but you kind of definitely have to know when Connor has the puck as some dangerous stuff could happen. Obviously he's a hell of a player. Guys did a pretty good job of covering him even though he's so dynamic and can create some good plays out of barely any room. The forwards and D had their work cut out for them as well, but obviously we stuck with it and got the two points.
